From the NY Times:
"At times visibly nervous, at others appearing to hew so closely to prepared answers that she used the exact same phrases repeatedly, Ms. Palin most visibly stumbled when she was asked by Mr. Gibson if she agreed with the Bush doctrine. Ms. Palin did not seem to know what he was talking about. Mr. Gibson, sounding like an impatient teacher, informed her that it meant the right of 'anticipatory self-defense.'"

do the republicans now equate blink with think ? this whole "we must not blink" business terrifies me. whatever happened to thinking an idea through, weighing the options, understanding consequences?

sigh.

seriously! it's this horrifying embrace of an absolutist, mindless, irrational (hell, anti-rational) approach to issues...

it's the political equivalent of religious blind faith—a steadfast refusal to base decisions on rational, comprehensive problem-solving. a refusal to attempt a holistic understanding of issues. a refusal to think. cuz thinking is for liberal elitists!

and honestly, even if someone is religious and values blind faith in that regard, how can she/he see that as a valid, productive approach to governance?

i see your "sigh" and raise you an "aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhhh"...
