it's interesting to read about how polarizing he was within the "art world," which i hadn't been aware of.
i really think he utilized one of the best palettes of any painter. he filtered reality in a way not wholly unlike hopper.
i also enjoy his placement of the horizon in many of his paintings. it's a little disorienting sometimes. a bit cinematic, maybe?
